Ferndale's Citizens for Better Education (CBE) is announcing an open call for potential Ferndale Board of Education school Board candidates for the November 2012 school board elections.

For the past 30 years, Ferndale's CBE has worked to identify and actively support School Board candidates of the Ferndale Public Schools.   Because School Board members are ultimately responsible for the philosophical leadership of the school district through setting policy, approving budgets, and hiring and guiding the District Superintendent, the purpose of CBE is to identify and support those candidates whose beliefs are that the Ferndale District Schools will provide an equal and excellent education for all of its students while moving forward in a fiscally responsible manner.

Potential candidates can visit the link below for an on-line application form to be considered for CBE's endorsement and support.

The final date for applications is MAY 31, 2012, with formal interviews to begin the shortly thereafter.

Candidates must be a resident of the Ferndale School District, have experience with the schools (PTA, Board of Education Committees, School Activity Support groups, etc.) and a continued commitment to improving education for all students in the District.

BOE Elections will be held on November 6, 2012.  There are 4 Board openings; two with 6 year terms and 2 with 4 year terms.
